Founded in the United States in 1958, Hush Puppies is a contemporary casual footwear and fashion brand. Hush Puppies Singapore worked with Division Communications and Save Our Street Dogs Singapore (SOSD) to create a special project to celebrate the brand’s 60th anniversary.

Alongside other creatives and agencies, UNIFORM received a sculpture of a basset hound, which features in Hush Puppies’ logo. Tasked with decorating the sculpture in a creative manner, the team decided to name the final artwork Patches.

Inspired by the process of Japanese indigo dyeing, the UNIFORM team dyed and cut old clothes into scraps before pasting them onto the sculpture in a patchwork pattern. By using the valued craft to refresh pre-loved clothes, we hope to communicate the significance of the project and SOSD’s mission, and show that all dogs are worthy of a second chance.

Thanks to Hush Puppies Singapore, SOSD and Division Communications for the chance to participate in a meaningful project.
